My name is Melinda I am a Hispanic teenage girl
and I am currently an eighth grader. =0
I will be remembered for........
My awesome poetry skills and my wise ways of being a know-it-all. I'm proud of being a know-it-all because that shows that I know a lot and that i will always make the right choice.
My poetry is the thing that I'm most proud of. :p
I will go on to.......
I will go to high school next year and I can't wait I am so happy to leave my middle school years behind me. Being in middle school was fun and all but now it's time for me to face reality and high school is the place to do it. I'll miss my friends when we go off to high school but I know that will see each other in the future when we are all successful. =]
I will become.......
I want to be come a Poet or if that doesn't happen I'll probably be a film director or something that involves making movies, documentaries, or something like that. Either way I'll still be happy with what I chose to do with my life. 8]
One of my Poems:
Happy Girl
Who's that girl
I've seen her before
she's dancing in the rain
even though people are watching
It doesn't matter
because in her eyes you can tell
she has a wild Spirit
that no one can control.
She stops for a moment
looking around she smiles
for she has the world
at her feet
she knew that one day
it would be there
So this girl that I'm looking
at is who again?
Oh yeah that's right
she's ME.
I couldn't be happier if it
was somebody else.

Keep writing, your poetry is amazing. Hope you accomplish your goal of being a poet or a film director. Remember to keep moving forward.

ReplyDeleteI remember when we first studied poetry in 6th grade and you were so unsure about sharing your thoughts with the class. Now you have become an accomplished writer, scientist and math student who is unafraid to let the world see your talent. I am truly proud of your accomplishments.
As you go on to High School I hope you continue to write ALL THE TIME and develop your skills even further. Your love of reading will help expose you to many great writers and poets, and as you discover them you will learn new and unique ways of expressing yourself even better. I would encourage you to create a website for yourself to share your work (you could even use Blogger.com like we did here!) and to send your poems to poetry magazines to get published (you can find many of these online). The more people that read your work, the better reputation you will create for yourself! Plus you might even get some scholarships out of it! :-)
